We live in a world that's globally connected by the internet—that's probably why it's called the world wide web.  To steal a slogan from UPS, I really feel that the internet has been synchronizing the world of commerce for several years now; it's so important in the business world.

I just read an article yesterday morning that mentioned that online ad spending is expected to surpass print advertising for the first time in 2012.  (I've provided the link to the article at the end of my post.)  Because of this amazing milestone in marketing, I don't believe that there could be a better time for us to be taking this course together!

I have a pretty large interest in technology and the internet, that's one of my reasons for enrolling in this course.  My hope is that these interests will be strengthened and enlightened through the topics we'll be covering in class.  I hope that I'll learn all the details about online marketing; how do per-click sales work, how are mobile apps developed, why do companies hire others to send out their mass emails?

This class might just be one of the most interesting classes that I've ever taken at Trinity—I'm sure it won't disappoint.
