Today, in our freestyle blog, I would like to talk about something that is near and dear to my heart. It is something that has revolutionized watching sports as we know it, and if it wasn't for the internet, it wouldn't be possible. It is called FANTASY SPORTS. The ability to compete for either money or pride by drafting athletes has definitely has changed the way that I know view sports. The crazy thing is, there are Fantasy Leagues for almost every sport imaginable. It allows you to take the job of a GM, scout, and coach for a team that you create. It allows to you to cheer for individuals that may not even be on your favorite team. The power is in your hands. With that being said, I should probably connect this back to our class somehow. With several people competing in Fantasy Sports on the internet, it opens up the door for several marketing opportunities. I've seen fantasy drafts being sponsored and as always, there are those ads on the websites. The leagues are set up so that people can compete from literally almost anywhere. I know that when you gave the assignment to write a freestyle blog you weren't expecting to have one written about fantasy sports, but its something, whether you think its rational or not, that is a prominent in America today. It is something that people plan for and around. Its amazing.
